Pilot programme outputs - Pedagogy and End use issues

This page has now been updated to include projects from all three phases of the UKOER Programme and is incorporated into the UKOER Guides Pedagogical Aspects and UKOER Guides OER use, reuse and repurposing pages. Please go there for up to date information. Thanks

Pedagogy and end use issues

Whilst not a major focus of the pilot programme most projects engaged deeply with issues around how people would use, reuse and repurpose materials. See also pages within the infokit that discuss these issues: Learning and Teaching considerations ; OER Use and Reuse ; Stakeholders and benefitsCultural considerations

The following resources have been produced by the pilot programme projects and these illustrate and highlight some of the use issues. Issues of granularity of resources (whether to develop packages of smaller items such as photographs, videos, podcasts, etc. or to package these up with an appropriate educational context) were discussed and dealt with in different ways. Several of the final reports discuss this issue and how the project teams chose to deal with the questions. Some chose to add 'educational wrappers' whilst others felt that the potential wide range of different educational contexts should be left to the users to decide.

Final reports are available from  Pilot Programme - OER Release Outputs

Many of the projects expect to find out more about how their resources are used after the funded period. Issues of tracking, soliciting comments and surveying end users have all been identified as ongoing activities.
